This educational tour combines expert commentary by University of Texas archeologist Solveig Turpin, Ph.D. and over 250 photos by Jim Zintgraff, NPA, using the latest tools in interactive multimedia photography.
Many of these ancient rock art sites are not open to the public and can only be viewed in this tour.
This unique CD-ROM gives you 3 different ways to explore the ancient rock art of the Lower Pecos. You can explore by time period, by region, or by style.
In addition, it also gives you a look at the people of the Lower Pecos with beautiful illustrations and a narrative showing their tools, crafts, lifestyle and living spaces.

Use the interactive timeline to compare the rock art of the Lower Pecos to important events in the New World and in the Old World for the last 18,000 years. Click on rock art examples in the timeline to see galleries of examples from that time period or style.

Use the interactive map to explore the ancient rock art sites by region. Click on a site in the map to view a 360 degree panoramic view of that site and also link to detailed close-ups of the rock art. Zoom in and out of the map as well as the panoramic views ad close-ups to see more detail.

The rock art is also organized by type and style. You can view the petroglyphs or any of the four styles of rock art paintings.
Finally, you will also find expert commentary from Jim Zintgraff and Dr. Solveig Turpin, including Dr. Turpin's account of what it all means today.
All proceeds go to support the continuing efforts of the Rock Art Foundation which exists to promote the conservation and study of the native American rock art in the Lower Pecos region of southwest Texas.
