| Stylistic variations on the panther theme abound. Depending upon the skill of the artist, they appear with mighty bristling tails (one outstanding characteristic of the native cougar is the length of their tails), roaring defiance from an attack posture, or like loveable cartoon figures, more pig than panther. The theme of opposing felines, even without the animal master, demonstrates its universal appeal, appearing in a number of stylistic guises. |
